Plot for a new family house is located in the city of Piešťany near stream Dubová, within the reach of the city centre. Since there is already existing small family house standing on the plot, we came up with an idea of a house behind a house. Footprint of the house is of a simple regular rectangular shape covered by pitched roof. The house itself is receding into the background and merges with the character of the existing enviroment and contributes to the homogenization of the location. The layout of the house follows the investor's requirements and is clearly defined. The day zone and the night zone are designed in a logical order. The entrance to the house is located in the middle of the layout and separates the private part from open part. The southeastern part of the house serves as an open area for kitchen, dining and living room. Children's rooms and master bedroom are situated in the south-western part of the house, with windows facing the “wild” garden. Northern tract serves for sanitary facilities and as a technical room of the house. Two gardens with different characters help visually separate the plot. Wilderness provides space for year-round green plants, grass and it is also a kind of garden suitable for cultivation. The quieter residential part of the garden located at the end of the plot, serves as a private area for the residents of the house, together with a roofed terrace which creates an interface between interior and exterior.
